This course offers BA/MA Angewandt students the opportunity to hone their skills in key aspects of Academic English: Research, writing, presenting, and discussing. For this course, students will be required to read Simon Sellars’s work Applied Ballardianism: Memoir from a Parallel Universe (ISBN 978-0995455078) and one other work by J. G. Ballard (details TBA at the start of the course). We are interested here in the intersections between theory and fiction, as well as the ways in which what we do and read at university impacts on our perception of the world around us. Course requirements are regular attendance, a presentation, and an essay/project.
